FSIM Quarterly Meeting - July 9, 2024 Three Harmonies - Carole Hyder Recap by Mary Conley
Carole Hyder presented information about San He, a little-known powerful adjustment that can be used to offset a missing piece of a house or for personal empowerment.
San He - The Three Harmonies The San He, or Three Harmonies, refers to the grouping of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals into four compatible triads. Each triad of animals is related to an Element, which include Water, Wood, Fire and Metal and presented in a circular format. The triad of animals foster harmony, support, and beneficial relations among them. Earth permeates each of the four groupings that are presented; therefore, it is not represented as one of the San He combinations.
Within the circle of animals for each Element, there is one animal that is located at the cardinal location (N, S, E, and W). There are three animals between the animal at the cardinal location and each of its two harmonious friends. These three animals create the triad (draw a line between the three animals to create a triangle). The four triads of San He and their related Element are as follows: 1. Water/Rat (North), Dragon, and Monkey 2. Metal/Rooster (West), Ox, and Snake 3. Fire/ Horse (Fire), Tiger and Dog 4. Wood/Rabbit (East), Sheep, and Pig
Each of the animals are related to a specific location on the compass and have a range of 15 degrees. Carole provided a handout that lists the animals and their compass locations.
Three being a powerful number, the Three Harmony Patterns create three triangles. One consists of heaven, earth and humanity, the second consists of internal, external and humanity and the third consists of time, space and humanity.
Applying the Three Harmonies
Missing area in a house adjustment: - From the center of the house, identify the compass location of the front door.
- Based on the compass location for the front door, reference the chart to determine this animal’s location and its associated harmonious friends.
- Using the information from the chart relative to the compass locations for each animal, place a small equal representation of each animal or the Element (based on the cardinal animal) at each of the three compass locations. If you choose, you can cut out or print small images and place them under or behind other items in the space. One of these compass locations will be outside of the space, representing the missing location.
- The three animal locations create a triangle connecting the animals together and overlaying onto the space.
Personal Empowerment Adjustment: - Take some time to reflect on what you would like help with in your life.
- Based on this, determine which Element would support you for achieving these goals or changes.
- Since this adjustment is for you, identify a space that is primarily used by you. It does not have to have walls. You can create imaginary walls that outline the space you have identified.
- Start at the center of the room referencing the chart for the Element you have chosen. Find the three compass points of the triangle and place three small items at these locations (they can be hidden from sight). They need to be fairly equal in size.
You can do another adjustment when you feel you have achieved your goal with this Element. Remove the old adjustment and then add a new one. You can do two Elements at the same time in one room or two separate rooms, but Carole recommended starting with one Element. |
