The Process of Three Harmonies

The number 3 holds significant symbolism and importance across various cultures, religions, philosophies, and mathematical concepts. In Christianity, there’s the central doctrine of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Hinduism has three major gods: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. And Greek mythology speaks of the three Graces. In mathematics, the triangle is the simplest polygon, consisting of three sides and three angles. In the visual world, dividing an image into thirds creates more interest, tension, and balance.
Objects presented in groups of three are inherently more satisfying, memorable and effective than other arrangements. There is a principle known as tricolon that supports the rule of three as a powerful tool used by speakers, writers, and marketers to make their message more memorable.
And in Feng Shui, we know that the number 9 holds a lot of positive power---a number made up of three 3’s. Overall three has a deeply ingrained symbolic significance, suggesting a universal recognition of its power and importance.
Along similar lines, the Three Harmonies in Feng Shui is a concept that can bring about harmony between individuals and their environment. The most common triad taught in the study of Feng Shui is the Heaven-Earth-Humanity triad which emphasizes the connection and balance between cosmic forces (Heaven), the physical environment (Earth) and people (Humanity).
However, the Three Harmonies can be adjusted to fit a Feng Shui approach in another way: Internal, External and Humanity. The External refers to the physical environment and the Humanity aspect references people, per usual. The Internal, however, represents our own personal mindset and intentions----another realm of the cosmos. Both triads can be applied to a space and its inhabitants for a customized and balanced environment.
Applying the concept of the Three Harmonies in a space can both support personal goals as well as offset a challenge in the space. The process is creative, personal and very effective----three words which aptly describe this approach.
FSIM Summer Solstice Gathering

We gathered at my home to celebrate the Summer Solstice. We ate, drank and had a wonderful time catching up with each other. I'm always grateful for getting together with my Feng Shui friends, because no matter how long it's been, we always seem to feel "at home" with each other, while supporting one another, which makes me feel great! And Isn't that what Feng Shui is all about?

As we recently announced, 2024 will be the last full year for FSIM before closing down as an organization. As a result, we will only be accepting memberships through July 9th.
If you are not already an FSIM Practitioner or Friend member, go to: fsim.org/Membershipinformation and register as a member today; your membership will allow you to receive a gift package when you register for the final January meeting.
Your membership will cover all remaining FSIM events. We have cut our membership rates in half: $49.50 for the FSIM Practitioner membership (eligibility & CEU requirements); and $36.00 for the FSIM Friend membership. We still have two membership meetings left this year, as well as one more in-person Equinox gathering, and the final Zoom meeting in January 2025.
Note: The FSIM Friend membership level is open to all; the FSIM Practitioner membership level has eligibility & CEU requirements. See the FSIM Membership page for further information on membership levels and fees.
