Membership Renewal Season
~Kathy Connors FSIM Board Member

Boo! It's Halloween. Trick or Treat!

FSIM is gearing up for our annual Membership Renewal. The FSIM Board is excited for 2017 and looks forward to our members renewing and bringing in some new faces as well! No tricks here! Just treating our Members to early registration and renewal!

It has been a spectacular year for FSIM. It was an honor to have Carole Hyder start off the year as our guest speaker for the 2016 Annual Meeting sharing her expertise as a Feng Shui Consultant in a medical facility at Hudson Hospital in Hudson, WI. The April Quarterly meeting featured Carol Cannon who spoke about Building Biology, the science of how buildings affect human health. What an important aspect to remember as Feng Shui Consultants. Lyndall Johnson spoke about the Evolution of Consciousness at the July meeting. Understanding where our clients are in their journey of life toward a balance in life and nature can assist us also in evaluting our Feng Shui clients. The October Field Trip to the Hindu Temple was so enriching! What a beautiful temple with many deities. The main deity for this temple is Vishnu the preserver, one of the Hindu trinity of gods; the other two being Brahma the creator and Shiva the destroyer. Multiple other deities had places of honor in 21 shrines - representing different regions of India - scattered about the temple. We were honored to have our own FSIM Member Kanika Bell lead us on the tour.

FSIM offered two collaborative events this year; The Flying Star workshop with Carol Cannon & Carole Hyder, followed by a special spring event: Association for Transformational Leaders workshop - Moving Energy for Client Success, Wellness and Health with Carole Hyder, Marie Diamond and Larry Caldwell.

Two Bonfire ceremonies brought our membership together. The first was on the Summer Solstice at Debbie Miller's house, and the second at Cheryl Larson's home during the harvest full moon which included angel readings by Kim Julen, FSIM Membership coordinator.

FSIM has new Board Members; Michelle Skalley-Doilney manages our website, Kim Julen is our Membership Coordinator, Sonia Ellis is our secretary and Ellen Johnson is our treasurer. We are grateful for all of the service that comes from members of the FSIM Board. We currently have an Event Coordinator Board Member position open. We would love for you to share your talent and join us! See below.

Please take this opportunity to renew early. There is no increase in fees this year, but there is an $18 service fee after December 16th for renewing Practitioners and Friends. This $18 service fee is waived for First Time Practitioner Members and Students. Don't forget about the 6 CEU's needed for Membership Renewal. Possible classes for CEU's are listed below.

Please join us in 2017! We on the FSIM Board continue to strive to serve our Members, bring new educational offerings, and events that allow us to share our Feng Shui passion, friendships and networking.

FSIM Board Event Coordinator Position Opening

Board positions terms with FSIM are 2 years. The term of our Event Coordinator, Carolyn Vinup, has passed and thus we have this position opening to fill. To support a smooth transition for everyone involved it will be best to get YOU on the board before the year's end so that you can be oriented to the role before the Annual Meeting, our biggest event of the year. Carolyn is leaving us in great shape with the January Annual Meeting mostly set and much of the 2017 work done ahead!

This role is best for someone with good organization and detail skills as well as creativity and that sense of fun and adventure that keeps our events lively and spirit filled. We have several newer members on the board and we all are loving their fresh perspectives! Please email Debbie Miller or Elaine Anderson by November 3 if you think you are interested, or if you know someone you think would be great at it!
